About Me

Welcome to our blog!! This is a blog about our life, mostly from Jennifer's perspective. We were married in July 2007 at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and then sealed together for eternity in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple in June 2009. We welcomed Ms. Ellie Sophia into our lives on February 9, 2010 and she is absolutely the light of our lives. Then we added Silas Ian on January 4, 2013 and his smile just brightens our days. We live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where Justin works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I pursue my PhD in Nursing while being a stay at home mom! Life is so chaotic but we really couldn't ask for a more perfect life!

Dear Ellie and Silas: Two

Dear Ellie and Silas,

This picture absolutely warms my heart. When we considered having a second child our biggest concern was how it was going to affect you, Ms. Ellie. We were mostly content having one child but there was definitely that void that could only be filled by another wee one (that's you Mr. Silas!). We would ask ourselves, "Will Ellie like her sibling?" "Will she miss out on opportunities because of a second child?" and "Do we have enough love, money, time, etc....to go around?" -- Every time we discussed it we always came to the conclusion that a second baby could only enhance our family and we indeed had enough of everything to go around.

When we found out we were going to have another baby the reality of all we had been dreaming about came true - we would have to work hard to make sure that you, Ellie, felt all the love and support that you felt when you were an only child - One. I am not sure that you really understood all that we were forcing you into with this sibling thing and, of course, you had no real choice. You came along for the ride. You were excited for your little sibling and you, of course, wanted a girl baby. Instead you got a boy baby. One that would take you from being the only one to be a part of two.

Our two babies. The only two who have heard my heart from the inside out. Two who can grow up together, play with one another, share with one another, and be there for one another.

Our lives were not complete without you Silas and we don't believe Ellie's life would have been complete without you. Each ONE of you is so special to us and loved by us, however the TWO of you have doubled our joy.

We love you both beyond words, and hope that you will feel that way about one another for the rest of eternity.
