About Me

Welcome to our blog!! This is a blog about our life, mostly from Jennifer's perspective. We were married in July 2007 at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and then sealed together for eternity in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple in June 2009. We welcomed Ms. Ellie Sophia into our lives on February 9, 2010 and she is absolutely the light of our lives. Then we added Silas Ian on January 4, 2013 and his smile just brightens our days. We live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where Justin works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I pursue my PhD in Nursing while being a stay at home mom! Life is so chaotic but we really couldn't ask for a more perfect life!

Ellie the photographer

I was sitting on the bed holding Silas one early morning and Ellie got my phone and took a picture. Here was one of the pictures that she took.....

It is one of my all time favorites.

Passport

We had to go get Silas a passport before our trip to Cancun. It isn't as easy as it looks to get a passport for a new baby!!  We took him to Sam's Club and the woman was very perplexed as to how she was going to get this picture taken since there are such specific regulations about the picture.

So she, kindly, went and found a sheet from another department and draped it behind his carseat so that he could have the requisite white background. It was hard to get him to look at the camera however we finally got the money shot.....

The guy at the Post office told us it was one of the best passport photos for an infant he's seen!

A few shots of the boy....

When I am working on this blog it is hard for me to know exactly what pictures to include and/or exclude.....I take a lot of pictures. A lot.

I had a ton of Silas that I just think are absolutely adorable -
they make me ooh and ahh when I see them.

I want to include them but I don't want to make an individual post for every day I take a cute picture of the boy --- let's be honest, I would be posting daily between the girl and the boy (they simply ooze adorableness).

So here is a compilation of the boy and all of his cuteness.....

There you go.....all the cuteness one can handle in one blog post.......

Ellie and Silas: Photo Shoot 2

What started out as a plain ol' day hanging out at home turned into another Ellie/Silas Photo Shoot.

Ellie was dying to jump on the bed -- in spite of the fact that it was jostling Silas all over the place.

So I convinced her to lay next to him so I could take some pictures....

These two are the light of my life.....and I could take pictures of them ALL day long!

Until next time my little ones.....

Dear Ellie and Silas: Two

Dear Ellie and Silas,

This picture absolutely warms my heart. When we considered having a second child our biggest concern was how it was going to affect you, Ms. Ellie. We were mostly content having one child but there was definitely that void that could only be filled by another wee one (that's you Mr. Silas!). We would ask ourselves, "Will Ellie like her sibling?" "Will she miss out on opportunities because of a second child?" and "Do we have enough love, money, time, etc....to go around?" -- Every time we discussed it we always came to the conclusion that a second baby could only enhance our family and we indeed had enough of everything to go around.

When we found out we were going to have another baby the reality of all we had been dreaming about came true - we would have to work hard to make sure that you, Ellie, felt all the love and support that you felt when you were an only child - One. I am not sure that you really understood all that we were forcing you into with this sibling thing and, of course, you had no real choice. You came along for the ride. You were excited for your little sibling and you, of course, wanted a girl baby. Instead you got a boy baby. One that would take you from being the only one to be a part of two.

Our two babies. The only two who have heard my heart from the inside out. Two who can grow up together, play with one another, share with one another, and be there for one another.

Our lives were not complete without you Silas and we don't believe Ellie's life would have been complete without you. Each ONE of you is so special to us and loved by us, however the TWO of you have doubled our joy.

We love you both beyond words, and hope that you will feel that way about one another for the rest of eternity.
