In April 2011 we went to Las Vegas for me to attend and present a poster at the Western Institute of Nursing Conference. It was held ad the Rio Hotel and Casino and includes nurses from all the Western States (hence its name!) such as NM, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, etc...It was an excellent opportunity for us to take a quick trip as well as a nice time for me to get my feet wet in doing a presentation at this level. One of the nice things about the PhD program is that it forces me to push myself further than I ever have before because the level of difficulty is just so astounding. I think back to my Bachelor's program and wonder how I could have ever complained about the level of work I was doing - those were the days!!

We had a really great time - Ellie loved all the action and seeing all the interesting folks on the strip. She made a few friends and broke a few hearts but hey, what can you expect when you are in Vegas!
