About Me

Welcome to our blog!! This is a blog about our life, mostly from Jennifer's perspective. We were married in July 2007 at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and then sealed together for eternity in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple in June 2009. We welcomed Ms. Ellie Sophia into our lives on February 9, 2010 and she is absolutely the light of our lives. Then we added Silas Ian on January 4, 2013 and his smile just brightens our days. We live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where Justin works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I pursue my PhD in Nursing while being a stay at home mom! Life is so chaotic but we really couldn't ask for a more perfect life!

The Emerald City: Part I

I have always, always, always wanted to go to Seattle.....always. So I found a conference there (The annual research meeting for AcademyHealth - FYI) that I knew I could get school to approve and pay for. This is a HUGE research conference in the world of health policy and a lot of fancy, schmancy, smarty pants present and attend. It's good times. I have never seen so many people from Harvard in my life!

It is on days such as these that I love the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Once it was approved all we had to do was book Justin's flight! Everything else was paid for - hotel, transportation, food, and conference fee. Total fee NOT paid by us -- nearly $2400!!!

We were a little (ok...a LOT) nervous to fly with Ellie because she's never flown before and she is one hyper ball of energy. We took lots of toys and snacks and she did FABULOUS!!! She was soooooo good I could just squeeze her! She made lots of friends on the plane and was just amazingly perfect on the trip (with one exception but we'll forgive that).

We stayed at the Sheraton Seattle which was right smack dab in the middle of downtown Seattle and within walking distance of almost everything "toursity" - with the exception of the zoo.

We were only there from Saturday to Wednesday so we had to cram a lot of stuff in and boy did we!! We went to the Aquarium, Woodland Park zoo, Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Children's Museum, Pike Place Market, Olympic Sculpture Park, did a Harbor Tour, Ride the Ducks Tour and the Experience Music Project PLUS lots of walking around.

We have sooo many pictures so this may take a few posts!!
