We wanted to go on a BIG vacation before baby #2 came and had originally planned to head to the Atlantis Resort in Nassau Bahamas. We booked everything - plane, hotel, etc... and the day before we were supposed to head out decided that it was a bad idea. The plane rides were too long, Ellie hadn't been feeling well and the time difference was going to reek havoc with our return flight (we were going to have to get to the airport at about 3 am New Mexico time and then spend the whole day flying). Also a tropical storm of some sort was predicted to be heading that way --- we had purchased trip insurance but had cancelled so late that we had to eat about $600 of what we shelled out. Ouch (!) but totally the best decision.
We were able to reschedule the airfare and headed to sunny San Diego (or Sandy Dego as Ellie called it)! It was such a fun trip and Ellie just had a total blast!
