Happy 4th Birthday Ellie Bo!!!

Dear Ellie,

Happy 4th birthday to this girl!! Where did the time go!? Just a short time ago we were holding a brand new baby in our arms and we wondered what kind of person she's be. Now, after 4 years, we have watched you grow into a sweet, energetic, social, creative, incredibly funny, loving, tough yet always caring for others, head strong, super chatty, girly girl with oodles of intelligence. You love your family, friends, karate, school, being outside, art, music, traveling, hello kitty, wearing pajamas and slippers, brushing your teeth, saying things you are thankful for, and harassing Silas.

Four years ago we could have never imagined all the ways you would change our lives - for the better. So happy 4th birthday to the little baby girl who made us parents, the first person to call us mama and dada, and being one if the greatest things to ever happen in our lives. We love you more than you will ever know!

Dear Silas: You are turning 1....don't.

Dear Silas,

You continue to grow into an amazing boy....challenging, yes, but amazing nonetheless!

You love to laugh and smile, you love trucks and cars, started walking when we were in Durango for the Polar Express, have traveled to Cancun, Hawaii, LA, Nashville, and Salt Lake City! You love to eat and will eat anything we send your way. You also love to repeat what you hear, you LOVE to take baths, you also love zzzrbrts on your belly (it makes you laugh quite a bit), you have 2 teeth, love sneaking into Ellie's room (she doesn't love this so much), and you also love throwing things down the stairs.

You are quite the little ham and are usually found making some one laugh. I still don't understand why you can't sleep through the night, but I'm learning that is just you. Maybe you don't want to miss out on the action or you like the extra time we spend at the wee hours of the morning!

You are turning one soon and the days of you being a baby are soon fading away. It hasn't always been easy but I will miss those days. I will miss you being little enough for me to hold and wanting to snuggle with me as we rock quietly in your room. Would it be too much for me to ask you not to grow up?

You are as cute as can be and you will forever have my heart.
