Dear Ellie,

You are turning two and all I can say is "wow!" I am not sure where the time has gone but wherever it has gone it has left us with some wonderful times and memories. You are an absolute delight and you bring us so much joy and happiness that words cannot express it. You have a smile that lights up a room and people are drawn to you wherever you go. Your sense of humor is quite intact and you absolutely love to laugh. You are as stubborn as the day is long and when you commit to something you stick to it no matter what. You are caring of others and when you see someone in distress you will typically ask them if they are ok (whether you know them or not). You are mama's little sidekick and you like to help her, get ready for the day with her (including putting lotion on your face, putting on deodorant, putting on make-up, etc....) and you freak out when she is gone. You are dada's little girl and you have him wrapped around your finger. You like to sit with him, hold his hand, and you run to greet him when he comes home from work. You have such a sweet yet spitfire spirit - you are the best of us.
Your passions include dancing, running in a circle, listenting to music, Elmo, Yo Gabba, Peppa Pig, the Fresh Beat Band, iCarly, Victorious, wearing your pajamas, hot dogs, taking showers, playing catch, being in water, sweeping, climbing stairs, playing peek-a-boo, talking, playing your instruments, popsicles, playing on you "aputer," singing, helping, drawing/coloring, being tickled, being outside, brushing your teeth, reading, talking on the phone, eating snacks, travelling, and spending time with mama and dada.
You dislike bedtime, sitting still, being corrected, eating meals, sitting in the corner, watching the news, baths, being woken up, changing you clothes, having your hair combed, and not getting things immediately.
Things you do that we are "working" on - yelling, hitting, not playing with the TV remote, cleaning up your messes (which you actually do well with), eating, and being overly demanding.
Catchphrases you say, "I'm done" - "Run in a circle" - "What's wrong?" - "Where did dada/mama/whoever go?" - "Are you ok" - "Pattern power" - "Hold this" - "Please" - "Thank you much" - "What happened?" - "Checking email" - "Dada working hospital" - "What's this?" - "I'm ok"- "I can't reach it. " - "What's that making noise?" - "My car is dirty" - "1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10" -"Big people poo poo" - "clean messes" - "Cream" - "Broccoli got your nose" - "I help you" - "Up" - "Go bye bye" - "Go outside" - "Baby's turn" - "Welcome to Yo Gabba Circus" - "Welcome Sesame Street" - "yumyumyum" -"What are you doing" - "I love you too" ------ Trust me there are many more (you kind of like to talk)
You have travelled all over the place: 3 cruises (Jamaica, Cozumel, Costa Maya, St.Thomas (VI), Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Cayman Island, and more), Seattle, Disneyland (twice), Las Vegas (Yo Gabba Concert), SLC, Phoenix, New Orleans, Florida, Houston, and many smaller places in between.
Needless to say....you stay busy!
Always know that our love for you is without bounds and it is for this reason that our expectations for you are so high. We want you to have a life where all your dreams come true and that you realize that it happens because of hard work, a willingness to take good risks, staying true to your values, having respect for others, and being unafraid of failing at times. We will support you to become the best you can be and nothing less (perhaps a little more). It is our job to give you the tools you need to succeed and its up to you to use them. We, as parents, have our own hopes and dreams for you but we realize that you will grow into your own unique and wonderful person. We are so excited to see you grow and to become wonderful you!
Ellie Sophia White - of you; we still approve.
We love you more than you could ever know.
Mama & Dada
