About Me

Welcome to our blog!! This is a blog about our life, mostly from Jennifer's perspective. We were married in July 2007 at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and then sealed together for eternity in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple in June 2009. We welcomed Ms. Ellie Sophia into our lives on February 9, 2010 and she is absolutely the light of our lives. Then we added Silas Ian on January 4, 2013 and his smile just brightens our days. We live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where Justin works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I pursue my PhD in Nursing while being a stay at home mom! Life is so chaotic but we really couldn't ask for a more perfect life!

Summer Cruise 2011: Cozumel

Final stop - Cozumel! We were excited about this port but also a little nervous because of its party reputation. We first stopped off to eat at Senor Frogs - which was delicious however $80 for 3 quesadillas was a bit much! However Ellie did get a smashing Balloon hat from a creepy balloon clown lady....

Our excursion for this stop was to hop on a Catamaran, go snorkeling and then hit up a beach. We were initally told (when we booked the excursion) tha the catamaran would take us to the beach and then take those that wanted to go snorkeling out - however this was not the case. Poor Ellie had to stay cooped up on the boat until it was time for the beach. She was rather cooperative given that this excursion wasn't the best choice for her - fortunately it was all booze included excursion so the drunken people on the boat provided her with sufficient entertainment. We watched many of them do various dances - YMCA, the electric slide, the Cupid Shuffle, etc...

We snorkeled for about an hour and then spent about an 1 1/2 hours at the beach but most of the time was spent riding on the boat to get to our various destinations. This was somewhat frustrating however the scenery was so beautiful and the weather was nice.

Summer Cruise 2011: Belize

So the next port we stopped in was Belize City, Belize which we had selected to go the Bacab Eco Park (Justin was very excited about this!). We had to take a tender boat from the ship to the port which was a 30 minute jaunt. At the Bacab park they had a butterfly area, a pool and allegedly some other animals (which we never saw). We boarded a bus that took us to the park and subsequently gave us a tour of the city which was pretty interesting. We arrived at the park after a 45 minute bus ride and headed for the lunch area because we were all starving. Lunch was part of this excursion however it was not ready when we arrived so we decided to buy some snacks to tide us over and this proved to be a disaster. The "kitchen" was not fully open so the menu was very limited. We placed our order and after almost an hour of waiting finally got our food. In this hour Ellie was very bored, running around, getting hot/sweaty and was so ready to get out of there that she didn't even eat. Of course! So Justin took her to swim and we finished eating and then headed out to the pool. Ellie had a blast at the pool and my mom enjoyed the butterfly area.

Good Bye Belize!

Summer Cruise 2011: Roatan, Honduras

The next stop was Roatan and we were all ready to open up our window and see nothing....we were WRONG!

Our excursions for this port included going to Victor's Monkeys/Zip Lining and then going to a nearby beach. We found our excursion van and boarded with four others who were just super nice people! We drove quite a ways and arrived at Victor's monkeys (I am not sure that is the official name) where my mom was going to hang out with Ellie while we did the Zip Lining stuff....

Little did we know that while we were having a blast ziplining that my mom was not having such a good time. When we arrived back to where we were to meet them we found them in the van with Ellie crying and my mom nearly doing the same. After we calmed her fears that we had not left her, provided her with snacks and a drink she was ready to hit up the monkeys.

She really loved the monkeys and was telling them "hi" and making monkey sounds. My camera freaked out on me (I guess the humidity there interefered with my detachable lens) and I didn't get a picture of when we were in the monkey cage, however this monkey was on Ellie's head and on mine as well. Kind of funny and gross all at the same time.

Then it was finally time for the beach! Ellie, of course, LOVED this!

After we returned back to the port area Ellie found some guys playing music and decided to join in!

In spite of the rocky start I think Ellie had a really great time at Roatan!
