About Me

Welcome to our blog!! This is a blog about our life, mostly from Jennifer's perspective. We were married in July 2007 at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas and then sealed together for eternity in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple in June 2009. We welcomed Ms. Ellie Sophia into our lives on February 9, 2010 and she is absolutely the light of our lives. Then we added Silas Ian on January 4, 2013 and his smile just brightens our days. We live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where Justin works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I pursue my PhD in Nursing while being a stay at home mom! Life is so chaotic but we really couldn't ask for a more perfect life!

What DO I do all day??

I was thinking, after an exhausting yesterday, about all that I do in a day. Am I really that busy or do I over-think what I do....

Let's review:

800 am -- wake up and work on responding to some discussion postings for school
900 am ish -- girl wakes up (change diaper, make "bed," play in room, clean up room)
955 am -- head downstairs in time for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
1000 am -- watch our programs, make breakfast and feed the monster
1100 am -- head upstairs to take a shower, get the girl dressed for the day
1145 am -- head to Walmart for grocery shopping
1230 -- head to World Market because they don't have what I need at Walmart
120 pm  -- Stop in a Chik Fil A for lunch
130 pm -- girl goes down for a nap, diaper tidy up mess made in the living room during our morning fun, wash dishes, put away groceries (Forget eggs in the car which I don't realize until the following day)
200 pm -- start homework
430 pm -- finish homework and girl wakes up, diaper
435 pm -- Ellie practices climbing and coming down the stairs
440 pm -- head down stairs, give girl a snack & juice, begin cleaning out pantry while she eats
510 pm -- clean up mess made by girl eating snack
530 pm -- went to check the mail, took girl for a ride in her cozy coupe
545 pm - return & play (ride around the house in the cozy coupe because she doesn't want to get out)
602 pm - finish cleaning pantry and Ellie's cabinet, diaper
645 pm -- make girl dinner and feed the monster
720 pm -- clean up mess made by feeding the monster
730 pm -- go upstairs and clear out clothes that the girl no longer fits in
800 pm -- bath time
805 pm -- realize that I had scheduled a telephone "meeting" with a classmate to finish up a project we are working on when she called me and I had already gotten the girl in the bath
845 pm -- Ellie's bath is over when my call is over (she LOVED getting to play in the bath for so long and she was VERY wrinkled when it was all said and done).
846 pm -- dry off, diaper, PJ's, prepare nighttime drinks and tidy up bathroom
900 pm -- rock the girl while she drinks her milk
915 pm -- brush girl's teeth
918 pm -- Girl goes to bed
919 pm -- realize that I left my cell phone sitting on the girl's crib and now I have to go back in thus upsetting her
922 pm -- girl cries herself back to sleep
925 pm -- tidy up the mess in the kitchen, living room and stairway
930 pm -- more homework
1140 pm -- Justin returns home from work - "dinner" - daily wrap up
100 am -- bed

So THAT's what I do in a day....

Perfect fit

My heart is like a fountain true that flows and flows with love to you
As chirps the lark unto the tree, so chirps my pretty babe to me
There’s not a rose where’er I seek as comely as my baby’s cheek
There’s not a comb of honeybee so full of sweets as babe to me
There’s not a star that shines on high is brighter than my baby’s eye
There’s not a boat upon the sea can dance as baby does to me
No silk was ever spun so fine as is the hair of baby mine
My baby smells more sweet to me than smells in spring the elder tree
A little fish swims in the well, so in my heart does baby dwell
A little flower blows on the tree, my baby is the flower to me
The Queen has sceptre, crown and ball,  You are my sceptre, crown and all.
The Queen rules over land and sea, my baby's smile rules over me.
Ten thousand parks where deer do run
Ten thousand roses in the sun
Ten thousand pearls beneath the sea
My babe more precious is to me

Official...

Dear Ellie,

You are officially one year old today. The big 0-1. Yup, it's official.

Happy 1st Birthday Ellie Bellie!!!

My how time has flown by. It seems as though you were just born but now you have already experienced one full year of life. You were so small you were easily cradled in our arms and now you are over half my height. You have 6 teeth, your hair is beginning to show hint of a curl, your beautiful blue eyes twinkle every time you laugh, you love to say "hi" and do so with a wave, your little hands now find mischief and your little feet now can walk you wherever you want to go.

We already feel so proud of all that you can do.

We love you more and more each day so much so that our hearts flood over with love for you. I hope that you have loved your first year here on earth with us. We are looking forward to many many more years of fun, laughter, learning and love!!

Psalm 139: 13-18

For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
     Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
       And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.

We love you to infinity and beyond ladybug,
Mama and Dada

Happy 1st Birthday Ellie Bellie!!!!!

Since Ellie's birthday falls on a Wednesday we decided to host her party the Saturday prior. We held a little get together with our families and barbecued some hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings. All the cupcakes, cakes and frosting are homemade...I went overboard....I admit. Ellie wasn't feeling quite herself (as you can tell in the pics) and had come down with a cold the day or two prior, however she was such a trooper and ate up every minute of being the center of the action!!
